Learn-to-Cook Project: Noodle soup
This is just a simple, noodle/onion/carrot/celery/broth soup. And it turned out great. Good flavor and seasoning (a skill I’m beginning to nail down). The actual broth is a bit thin, but I mean….it’s vegetable stock/salt/pepper with just a little corn oil. That’s why the noodles are there. It’s not a big, hearty soup because it’s early in the soup chapter, but I mean…goddamn. What’s better than onions grilled in oil? Answer: getting laid and then eating a PBJ sandwich, but that’s about it. You start grilling onions, people walk in the kitchen and think, “Damn, it smells like this guy knows how to cook. He’s so sexy that I better go buy condoms and peanut butter and jelly.”
The recipe suggested various noodles you could have used, and next time I think I’ll use orzo. I think the small, grainy pasta would give this thing a heartier feel and be a little less difficult to get into a soup spoon.
