#46b. English Special/Strong Bitter
Entry: Fuller’s ESB (5.9%ABV, England)
This is it! This is the last Fuller’s I have to drink in this project! This is the last “weirdly highly-rated but kind of just average, taste-alike, malty English beer!” This one, despite having a higher rating than the Wells, has a thinner mouth-feel, less complex taste, and is kind of just a lesser beer, in my opinion. Like….it’s not a bad beer. It’s totally serviceable. And because it’s thinner than the other, its less filling and easier to drink. But it’s certainly not better, in this internet dude’s humble, poorly-informed opinion.
